چکیده

The work being reported here deals with the design of a new type of "N-H" Ni(II) complexes of glycine Schiff bases and study general aspects of their reactivity. It was confirmed that the presence of NH function in these Ni(II) complexes does not interfere with the homologation of the glycine residue, rendering these derivatives of high synthetic value for the general synthesis of α-amino acids. In particular, the practical application of these NH-type complexes was demonstrated by asymmetric synthesis of various β-substituted pyroglutamic acids via Michael addition reactions with chiral Michael acceptors.

Asymmetric synthesis of α-(1-oxoisoindolin-3-yl)glycine: synthetic and mechanistic challenges.

We report herein that the NaOMe-catalyzed reactions between the chiral glycine Schiff base (S)-4 with 2-cyanobenzaldehyde 3a provide for a convenient preparation of the novel α-(1-oxoisoindolin-3-yl)glycine 1 of high pharmaceutical potential. The reactions involve at least eight synthetic steps and can mechanistically be realized only with application of Ni(II) complexes described in this study.

The Kinetic and Thermal Degradation Studies of N-(4-Acetyl-phenyl)-acetimidic Acid Pyridine-3-yl ester Metal(II) Complexes

Schiff base complexes of transition metals are of particular interest to inorganic chemists because of their structural, spectral and chemical properties, which are often strongly dependant on the nature of the ligand structure. Large number of metal (II) complexes with Schiff-base ligands has been extensively studied for their interesting structural specialties, applications and properties. Th...

Metal complexes, ML (M=Ni, Cu, Co and Zn) of unsymmetrical tetradentate schiff base have been synthesized by the template reaction of the half-units N-(1-hydroxy-2-acetonaphthone)-1-amino-2-phenyleneimine)(HL1) with 2-Pyrroleca-rbaldehyde. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR and UV spectroscopy. The crystal structure of the Ni(II) complex has been determine...

Catalytic asymmetric Michael addition of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes to Ni(II) complexes of the Schiff base of glycine.

The conjugate addition of Ni(II) complexes of glycine Schiff base to α,β-unsaturated aldehydes catalyzed by (S)-2-(diphenyl(trimethylsilyloxy)methyl)pyrrolidine afforded adducts in excellent yields with up to 49:1 dr and 95% ee. This method enables the construction of two adjacent chiral centers in one step, and offers an alternative route to chiral α-amino acid derivatives.
